McPherson County Special Education Cooperative Announces Next Executive Director

The McPherson County Special Education Cooperative, McCSEC, is pleased to announce the selection of Katherine Herrman as its next Executive Director. Ms. Herrman will assume the role in July. She currently serves as Director of the Rice County Special Services Cooperative in Lyons.

Ms. Herrman brings more than 15 years of experience in education, including leadership in cooperative administration and a background as a school psychologist. Throughout her career, she has focused on building strong teams, supporting educators, and navigating the complex requirements of special education to best serve students and families. Her experience includes overseeing cooperative budgets, guiding program improvements, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. 

 

“I am truly honored and excited to step into the role of Executive Director for the McPherson County Special Education Cooperative. I look forward to joining such a dedicated team, learning your systems, building strong relationships, and becoming part of a culture that prioritizes student success. It’s a privilege to become a part of a community so committed to supporting students and families,” Ms. Herrman said. 

Ms. Herrman earned her district-level licensure through Fort Hays State University and is widely respected for her collaborative leadership style and commitment to student-centered decision making.

“We are excited to welcome Ms. Herrman to McCSEC,” said Ms. Megan Ladenburger, Assistant Director of McCSEC. “Our team is looking forward to her leadership and the experience she brings. She has a strong understanding of the requirements and complexities within special education, and we are confident she will continue to support our staff and students at a high level.”

Dr. Shiloh Vincent, Superintendent of McPheson Public Schools, also shared support for the selection. “We are eager to continue the important work of supporting all students across our districts. Ms. Herrman’s experience and approach position her well to lead McCSEC into the future.”

The McPherson County Special Education Cooperative serves students across McPherson County by providing specialized services, resources, and support to ensure all learners have access to a high-quality education.

Ms. Herrman will begin the transition process immediately, with her official contract start date set for July 1.
