Maximizing Impact, Minimizing Costs

This bond plan focuses on the most responsible use of resources.

Throughout the planning process, the McPherson community shared that fiscal responsibility is a top priority. That feedback helped guide the decision to keep McPherson High School at its current site.

The Board of Education and a community planning committee explored the option of building a brand-new high school at a new location. That option would cost around $115M.

Renovating and renewing McPherson High School at its current site is estimated to cost $62.5 million. This approach allows the district to address major needs, update aging systems, and improve learning spaces without the added cost of purchasing land and building entirely new facilities.

This was a strategic choice. It allows the district to make the biggest impact for the smallest investment, while strengthening the school students already know.

This plan supports strong schools and helps keep students inspired in a learning environment that meets today’s needs.
