McPherson Public Schools is proud to announce that Ms. Cara Schrag will serve as the Principal at Roosevelt Elementary School for the 2023/24 school year.
Ms. Schrag currently serves as the building principal at McCandless Elementary in Hutchinson and is eager to return to McPherson Public Schools in this new capacity.
When asked about her connections to McPherson, Ms. Schrag said “I live in McPherson, Kansas with my husband EJ Schrag and two daughters Sayer (2 yrs) and Jones (1 yr). We are a farming family who loves to spend time with family and friends. EJ was born and raised in McPherson, while I joined the community about 10 years ago.” She served as an elementary teacher in McPherson Public Schools from 2016 through 2018 and her familiarity with the community and district will benefit her greatly.
Dr. Shiloh Vincent, Superintendent, said of the hiring: "Ms. Schrag brings an array of experiences, skill sets, and dispositions that will be invaluable in her new role. Ms. Schrag is described as a collaborative, servant leader with a mission-focus commitment to helping students and staff succeed. We are excited to see the positive impact she has on students, staff, and the community as she transitions to the helm at Roosevelt Elementary School."

Ms. Schrag's duties as Principal at Roosevelt Elementary School will officially begin July 1, 2023.
